All Flourishing Is Mutual Silkscreen Print
All Flourishing Is Mutual Silkscreen Print
This silkscreen print is a print from a sign that I painted for a show organized by the Previnylettes - the Suffragette Centennial Exhibition at The Ford Gallery in Portland, OR.
The thought behind the original sign:
These are words that jumped out at me while reading Robin Wall Kimmerer’s Braiding Sweetgrass, so I paired it with a vintage quilt pattern. As in nature, when one person is flourishing, it ripples out to affect all those around them. I define flourishing as not only having your safety, home and food needs met, but experiencing emotional and spiritual growth as a person in a supportive environment, to thrive, to be part of our human existence. Women’s rights are good for everyone. Trans rights are good for everyone. Gay rights are good for everyone. Civil rights are good for everyone. May you flourish, and may it spread to all those around you.
